Our past
The history of our roof rack systems goes back to the 1950s. Joachim Köhler, father of Andreas Köhler, was already a specialist in the industry. Andreas Köhler obviously also had this profession in his blood. He had also been working for the company since 1984, founded a new company in 1993 and continued the production of roof rack systems at the Lissendorf site in a competent and future-oriented manner.
Our roof rack in the Sprintour video
This video shows the installation of a roof rack on a Mercedes Sprinter W906, L2 /H2, identical in construction to the VW Crafter up to model year 2016. The luggage rack on this Sprinter is 318 cm long and 143 cm wide. 9 cross profiles incl. the front/rear profile were installed. In most cases, 8 – 10 supports are used. Installation is carried out using the existing fixed points or, if available, using the C-rails on both sides. Suitable screw fittings are supplied with the roof rack. Proper sealing must be ensured during installation at the fixed points. The static load capacity of the roof rack is 400 kg and is therefore also suitable as a platform for a terrace.

In this video from Sprintour, we produce the first roof rack for the Mercedes Vito or Vaneo from model year 04/2014. The strong curvature of the roof is a challenge with this vehicle. This drops considerably at the front and rear. The front fixed points are not used with this system. Despite all this, this roof rack forms a good basis for a roof terrace or a roof tent.
